Combine Tab data into one?
Our take
Combining data from multiple tabs into a single worksheet can streamline your workflow and enhance your productivity. In your case, where two tabs contain daily downloaded data and a third tab needs to consolidate this information, a straightforward approach can help. By utilizing functions like VLOOKUP or INDEX-MATCH, you can effectively merge the data while keeping unique headers intact. This ensures that if a specific column isn’t available in one tab, the corresponding cells in the third tab remain blank, maintaining clarity in your dataset.
Hi,
I currently have a workbook with 3 tabs. Two of the tabs I'm downloading data and pasting into every day and with the other I'd like it to combine the data from the two tabs into. They mostly share the same column headers but each have a few unique headers. In that scenario I'd like the columns in the third tab and to remain blank if it's coming from a tab without that column. Pasted below is an example. I don't want the tab names listed, just listing as example to show where they're being pulled from. What would be the best way for me to accomplish this?
Tab 3
---
Tab1-A
Tab1-B
Tab1-C
Tab2-A
Tab2-B
Tab2-C
Thanks

- Consolidate data from different worksheets with final information coming from a combination of the worksheetsHoping for some help on a problem I can't wrap my head around. I need to consolidate some information from 12 different tabs (one data pull per month) into one worksheet with some of the data needing to be overridden and some needing to stay. With the most recent pull of the data not necessarily being the information I want showing, I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm trying to find a way to create this and pass it along to someone else to just load data and it automatically puts out the result I'm looking for. For instance, I pull information from my system in January for the entire year (broken into monthly buckets) and all of that is perfect. My second data pull of the year in February isn't so clean. I need to see the numbers from January on any of the January data (because it zeros out in February in my system) but everything related to February through December needs to be from the most recent data pull. Third pull of the year in March, I need to see the numbers from January and February for the January and February data and then need the new info for March through December. Basically, by the time December rolls around, I need data from all 12 sheets. Hopefully this makes sense. Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this in Excel? submitted by /u/megd726 [link] [comments]
- Info within cells or new sheet?I am trying to figure out the best option for data within a cell. So the company I work for has about 200 properties in an excel spreadsheet. Some are single family up to multi apt complexes. With any property having more than unit for rent, we would like to be able to see a break down by address. I created a tab, and linked the tab to the address on the main tab. But now that new tab is over 400 lines long and it makes it hard to find certain data. Is it possible to make the link take me to the corresponding cells in the new tab? Or can I make something on the main sheet, pop up with a breakdown per unit? - Data entry in one sheet modifying values in another sheet?Hi everyone! I’m creating an inventory workbook. What I’d like to do is have one tab with our inventory counts, and another tab with data entry that will modify our inventory counts. For example I start my sheet with 5 blue shirts on tab A; tomorrow Katie comes in and asks for 2 blue shirts, which I will enter on tab B, which will then bring my blue shirt count in tab A down to 3. Is there a way to do this? I figure there must be, but having a hard time figuring it out and Googling it 😂 any tips? Thanks so much!! submitted by /u/penniesfromheaven_ [link] [comments]
