Excel Power Query refresh suddenly incredibly slow
Our take
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with a Power Query refresh in Excel that has suddenly become incredibly slow. Despite refreshing this file daily and making no significant changes—just altering data types—the refresh time has ballooned from a few seconds to an indefinite wait. The file isn’t large, with around 5,000 lines, and I’ve already tried adjusting privacy levels, background refresh, and fast load options based on online suggestions, but nothing seems to resolve the problem. How can I effectively troubleshoot this? Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I have a file that I refresh daily with several queries.
One of those became incredibly slow (few seconds to hasn't finished yet) from one day to the next. Nothing changed in the file or source, it is not very large (~5000 lines) and without any manipulations other than changing the data type.
I have tried to change the privacy levels, background refresh, fast load and so on as I found online, but nothing helped. How can I solve this?
Thank you!
