Job search was massively easier than just a year ago

Our take

Job searching has dramatically improved for senior Machine Learning Engineers in the UK over the past year. After enduring a challenging 14-month process in which I applied to 60 jobs, this year has been a refreshing change. Within just one month and eight applications, I received two job offers, which has me feeling optimistic. Additionally, my LinkedIn notifications are buzzing with interest, reminiscent of the peak hiring days in 2021. It seems like the tides are turning in our field after four years of uncertainty.

ML Engineer in UK, senior level.

In 2024-25 I must have applied to 60 jobs in a 14 months period and it was a shitty experience overall. This year it took one months and about 8 applications from which I got 2 offers! so I am vibing.

Incidentally, since January I am getting LinkedIn messages like it was 2021, so maybe (hopefully) things are looking up for this field, the last 4 years have been unnerving.

End of communiqué.
