Preventing Temp Views on 365

Our take

Managing shared worksheets in SharePoint can be challenging, especially when inconsistencies arise between similar sheets. In this case, one division's sheet is creating temporary views frequently, while the other remains stable. Despite both sheets originating from the same template, the differing behavior has led to frustration among staff and dissatisfaction from management. To address this issue, it’s essential to investigate settings, permissions, and any potential user behaviors that could be contributing to the creation of these temporary views.

How do I prevent staff from creating a temporary view on a shared worksheet? We are using 365 in SharePoint.

What is frustrating is that I have two identical sheets created from the same template for two different divisions in the same workbook.

One region's sheet is creating temporary views daily or several times a day. Where the second division's sheet does not have this problem & never has.

I reviewed both sheets & I can't find any difference. I turned off autosave on the sheet that is creating the temp views, because that was the only difference between the two sheets.

Everyone is annoyed, complaining & my boss is pissed.

Please help!
