I am trying to get a running total on daily log qty. I can't seem to get a formula to work on (Total's Sheet) I want to be able to add to "daily log" and "Totals sheet populates using a Costcode as the cross reference and sums up Qty. By the end of I will have about 40 Cost codes and around 1k entries. What formula is best suited for this? I have tried to use Xlookup, VLookup, and sumif. I can't get any of them to work for me only an error, or "0" populates. Can someone break this down to me in simple terms why one formula is better than the other and when to use it in a situation like this.

- Tracking totals over all sheets, but from different cellsHi, I'm trying to keep an automated running total on working hours for my project. I have one sheet per day, each with a cell that sums the total hours for that day (reads 40 in my screenshot), dating back to October. I've been tracking this manually with a rather bulky SUM function on a dedicated sheet, and it works just fine, but I'd like to try to automate the grand total to sum each day as it's created, rather than manually adding the cell each time I create a new sheet. The issue I'm running into is that the daily total doesn't land on the same cell every day; I am constantly adding & removing rows as people come & go from the project. There are also multiple cells that read total hours; one for the subcontractor sections, one for my own company's section, and the bottom one which sums the whole day - this is the one I'm trying to track. Is there a way to filter for this cells contents on each sheet based on the Daily Total cell in the bottom right perhaps, even though they're not in the same row? - Inventory Audit using XLookup w/ multiple criteriaI've been working on a spreadsheet to keep track of some inventory. It has how many units entered and exited each day, for each item. Using this information, I have then compare it to the list of in/out inventory sent to us by a third party, basically to confirm that our numbers and their numbers match. This is where I'm struggling. I can't seem to find an efficient way of comparing these numbers that works. I've tried XLookup and Nested formulas, Index Match, etc and nothing seems to be working. I need the "total" numbers for each day from the first image to go into the "Double Check" column on the second image, matched for the item and date. I'm not sure if it's an issue because some is horizontal and some is vertical? Would love if anyone had a solution or better method to do this, thanks! - Formula works in most of the cells ant not othersI downloaded a budget excel that was basicly what i was looking for. I coped it 13 times in the work sheet one for each month and 1 for a yearly total. The yearly one is running a current total for the year for what was done so far. My issue is that most of the cells this will work in but there is one section it will not do a running total for unless i have an amount in every cell for the 12 months. - Index Match or Xlookup to return sum of row values based on matching two horizontal lookups?Ask: If E59:S59=E111 AND E60:s:60<-E112, give me the sum of E61:71,else return 0 What is the smoothest formula for this? I added in what I'm trying to do on the formula line. ChatGPT is less helpful with this than I am. I want to bundle by phase because our timesheet system doesn't allow me to pull a report by phase/task, only by person. I tried Xlookup but kept getting SPILL errors so I am at a loss. FTE1 is a different category and should not be included (PM, I can plug that as it's always in the same position).
