Stop excel from jumping while scrolling
Our take
If you're finding that Excel automatically positions the selected cell at the top of your screen while scrolling, you're not alone. This common frustration can disrupt your workflow, especially during text analysis. Many users prefer having the active cell centered for better context and continuity. While options like scroll lock and frozen panes might not have resolved the issue, there are still ways to enhance your scrolling experience. Let’s explore effective solutions to regain control over how you navigate your spreadsheet.
So I don't know how to frame this more accurately. I am using excel for some light text analysis purposes (yeah yeah there is better and I should probably just use different software). When I scroll, excel keeps putting the cell I am scrolling to on top of the screen, but this confuses my brain. I want to have the cell in the middle of the screen so I can situate it to the last one. Any chance someone understands what I mean, and knows a solution? I tried changing the scroll lock, frozen pans etc... but nothing seems to change excels bad habit of deciding for me, where the current cell is supposed to be.
thank you
