Temporary / Default Views aren't working as I expected

Our take

It sounds like you're encountering challenges with the functionality of temporary and default views in your online Excel setup. Your goal is to enable your customer service team to filter by customer without affecting each other's views. However, it appears that all views are interconnected, leading to unintended changes across the board. This issue can hinder productivity and clarity, making it crucial to address how these views operate so each team member can effectively manage customer interactions without disruption.

I have an online excel that has our customer terms in it, we want our customer service team of 10 to be able to use this excel and filter by the customer they're speaking with on the phone.

My understanding was that if you created a new view, you could filter and select without impacting other users, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The temporary/new/saved views are all controlling each other.

Inside is a dropdown, and once selected, all the other cells change.

Default view = select a customer = changes all other views to that customer

Temporary view = select a customer = changes all other views to that customer

Saved view = select a customer = changes all other views to that customer
