Why Excel on Mac is such a crap?
Our take
Many users have experienced frustration with Excel on Mac, particularly when it comes to basic functions like find and replace. This seemingly simple task can lead to unexpected crashes, disrupting workflow and diminishing productivity. Such issues not only hinder efficiency but also raise questions about the reliability of the software itself. As users seek smoother, more efficient alternatives, it becomes clear that traditional spreadsheet tools may not meet the demands of modern data management. Exploring innovative solutions could provide a more stable and empowering experience.
Possible that excel on Mac has to crash each and every single time you want to make a simple (idiotic) find and replace???
and this is only one of the crash reasons I encountered only today!

- Find/Replace crashes the app on MacBook running Tahoe 26,4Hello all! Just checking in to see if I’m the only one having an issue with Excel. Any time I try to perform a Find or Find/Replace, the app crashes and restarts giving me the option to recover my file. Very annoyed! submitted by /u/BeagleIL [link] [comments]
- Has Excel been garbage for other people lately, too?I’ve used it for over a decade and just this past year, I feel like it’s having an issue at least everyday. It’s mostly with the focus switching to the wrong workbook, clicking in cells not being registered correctly, and some keyboard shortcuts just breaking randomly until I restart. Working in excel used to be a pleasure; now it annoys me at least a couple times a day. I mostly just needed to vent because wtf Microsoft? Edit: to clarify, I’m using the Microsoft 365 version which is probably part of the problem. submitted by /u/TheInternetShill [link] [comments]
- I choose a MAC over a Windows for excel heavy jobI am intern at a big multinational corporation and I received an email saying that I can choose between a thinkpad or a new macbook m4. Long story short I choose the Mac but now I read excel is really bad on it. I mostly have to upload information to a data base manually or V-LOOKUP things. Handle invoices, create new data bases based on sales and update already existing excel tables tracking sales. This is 50% of my job. Am I screwed? submitted by /u/Glittering-Back-5850 [link] [comments]
