3 weeks in Senegal and thinking of short detour to Guinea-Bissau. Good idea?

Hi all, 31 year old living in Europe of Indian origin (Indian passport). I'm planning a 3 week trip to Senegal next year. My girlfriend is Dutch with Dutch passport, but it's not sure if she'll join.

My travels so far have mostly been in India and Europe. Apart from that, some SE Asia and briefly Turkey. So mostly within structured systems and decent travel infrastructure. The most "offbeat" travel I've done is backpacking in Slovakia and Bulgaria. Even in India, while systems aren't great, you can pay your way into convenience and comfort to quite some extent because options exist. Plus never been anywhere with violent crime risk. Overall, I wouldn't say I'm a very hardened traveller.

So Senegal seems to be a decent entry point into Africa. From what I hear, it's fairly safe and money can buy convenience/safety to some extent. But would someone with my experience be able to do 4-5 days in Guinea-Bissau? I'm thinking of going overland from Ziguinchor to Bissau and back. And what I hear is that infrastructure barely exists, armed robbery is a real risk, and transport is not fully reliable.

Should I stick to Senegal for the trip, or be adventurous and venture into Guinea-Bissau?
