3 days of hiking in the Polish Tatra mountains.

Last december i spent 3 days in the polish side of the Tatra mountains, as part of a longer and broader trip to Poland, and i have to say that they more than delivered! Accessible, safe, scenic,… it outperformed on all fronts. Also made me realize all the epic nature i searched for on previous longer “adventure trips” (siberia, himalaya’s,…) can actually be found closer home, without the extreme journeys while also offering a way greater variety. Pictures are from the “Kuznice-Hala Gasienicowa-Giewont” and “Morskie Oko”-lake walking routes. Used the town of Zakopane (extremely popular among locals and touristy, as expected when you present yourself as “the gateway to the mountains”) as my base because of the convenient 2-hour bus connection with Warsaw, Poland second biggest city and previous stop on the trip. Honestly couldn’t be more pleased since it is connected with every possible entrance to the Polish side of the Tatry national park through minibuses departing from its railway station. I had to limit myself to two of the more popular walks because of time constraints but will definitely be back:)
