Navigating ACL Paper Length Discrepancies: A First-Timer's Guide

You selected a long paper during ARR review, your main text runs nine pages, and yet the AACL Anthology lists it as a Short Paper. That discrepancy is jarring, especially for a first-time author. The good news: this is a known formatting quirk, not a judgment on your work's quality. Conference proceedings often classify papers based on page count in the final PDF, not your submission choice. Don't panic, but do contact the publication chair to confirm.
