Keep your spreadsheet shading intact when pivot tables resize

A pivot table that shrinks can leave exposed cells stripped of their shading, breaking the visual consistency you carefully built. This happens because Excel treats the pivot table's footprint as dynamic, not fixed. Without macros or scripts, the solution lies in conditional formatting, set rules based on a helper column or a static range to reapply shading automatically when cells reappear.
