paper-specific terms

How AI is reshaping academic writing for machine readers, not humans

A researcher hands a paper to an AI and gets a clear summary in seconds. The paper wasn't badly written. Its reader just wasn't human. We see this pattern everywhere now: introductions packed with undefined terms that only make sense once you've read the whole thing. A loop is forming. AI-assisted reviewing rewards dense writing. Models trained on accepted papers learn to produce more of it. If no human reads from page one, nothing catches the failure. That future isn't one we should accept.
