Are Automatic Food Costing Sheets possible with Excel?

Our take

Automatic food costing sheets in Excel are indeed possible and can streamline your recipe management. By setting up a main sheet with ingredient costings and creating a linked recipe sheet, you can enable automatic calculations for your food costs. This approach allows you to maintain control over your data without needing to rely on external applications. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t worry—many users have successfully implemented this system. Let’s explore how you can simplify your food costing process and make it work for you!

Hi guys,

I swear many moons ago someone taught me how to run food costing sheets so that you have a main sheet with ingredient costings and then you have a recipe sheet and you can link the ingredients between sheets so it auto calculates.

I can not for the life of me figure it out. If this is possible and my brains not making it up any advice would be HUGELY APPRECIATED because im kinda old school and would prefer not to use an app or whatever.

Please and thank you for any help given 😁
