Best way to tally in 1 sheet to another

I am new to excel and i want to make tallying more easy and efficient. Is there any formula or tips for me to do this type of tallying :
Example:
I have sheet 1. And column A is about different words said by random people (this column is an ongoing survey for a year)
In sheet 2, there is a table where i need to know how many times that specific word appeared in column A. And i want it to automatically be tallied already from sheet 1
Is there a way for me to make a formula out of it? Thank you!!!

The document output is formatted automatically in a way that uses columns for unique respondents, followed by their answers in the same column but along individual cells on that column's row, meaning the first entry is A2 and the last entry is in cell CQ2 or something. I would like to make this more user-friendly by: 1) putting each respondent's answers in their own sheet in the folder, and 2) by listing the questions in the first column and the answers in the next columns pretty much 'the other way around'. Currently it looks like this; the answers I need are listed in !VotersF3 to !VotersCQ3. The next respondent's answers are in !VotersF4 through to !VotersCQ4 and so on. What I'm looking for would ideally display answers in !AnswerA3 through to A80. When I manually select !AnswerA3 and click on !VotersF3, logically it does what I want. When I then drag down to autofill, equally logically the sheet enters !VotersF4 instead of !VotersB3 as it's a row vs column problem. I've tried different version of INDEX and TRANSPOSE but I can't get a working formula from that. Would anyone be able to provide me with the correct solution for doing this? - Formatting question for automating data entryIm going to try to articulate what I need and if it’s possible to do inside excel. At my job I have to record the amount of patrons using our facilities. and specify what particular services are being used. at the end of each quarter. (3 month period) I must tally up all the numbers and provide a total for each aspect of our facility as well as the total overall. For example. 1st quarter numbers. 100 patrons used theatre. 250 patrons used Game room 450 patrons used computer lab so on and so forth. Now that you have the gist in your head. Imagine a spreadsheet where the first form is just a data entry sheet. it’s essentially just a box that never changes. You input the numbers for the week, and that data gets automatically moved to a different cell that has the total amount. so that at the end of the quarter I can easily see my total without having to backtrack or tediously add. if anyone has some insight on how I can do this Please reach out. - How to sum all cells in column B where column A in the same row contains a specific string of text?I have a spreadsheet with names in column A and numerical responses in columns B, C, etc. I want to make it so that if, in a given row, column A contains a specific name (say, "Bob"), then the numerical value in column B in that same row will be added. Basically, I want the sum of all the rows in column b for which column a contains "Bob". I can't just sort by column a because sometimes it will contain multiple names per cell (ie Susan, Bob), and I need the equivalent numerical value to be added to both Bob and Susan's total. I've tried google searching this but I can't figure out how to specify same row but different column. I know I could probably do this with what I know already using just like... a lengthy chain of conditionals, but last time I tried that I ended up with an excel file that crashes my computer every time I try to open it, so I was hoping there's a better option. - Excel tally table using formulasHi All, quite new here and still learning Excel. Im trying to set up a Table to keep track of all my university assessments and tests due this year. Im trying to create a tally table that will count all the tests/assignments that are submitted early, the ones that are submitted on time, and the ones submitted late. I want the the tally to be determined if Column K says "SUBMITTED", and if the date in Column I is before the date in Column G. Ive tried several different fomulas but it keeps returning an array, not tallying correctly or counting blank spaces. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
