Conditional formatting rows with multiple conditions
Our take
Conditional formatting in Excel can enhance your data analysis by visually highlighting important information. In your case, you're looking to highlight entire rows based on specific criteria in columns A and F. To achieve this, you can create a formula that checks if column A contains a particular value (like "break") and if column F exceeds a set duration (such as 16:00). This approach allows for flexibility, enabling you to apply different conditions for various entries in column A.
Hi I recently was promoted to a role that within management. Part of my role includes auditing time spent in certain "auxes." We take these reports with the important columns being A the Auxe and F the duration.
What i want to do is have a formula that can highlight the row when if column A has a certain name (i.e. break) and and column F goes over a certain duration (i.e. 16:00) but also still work for different factors for Column A?
I hope im making sense. Im not well versed in Excel. Thanks for any help in advance.

- Conditional formatting for highlighting cellsI have two very lengthy columns, let’s call them column A and column B. I need to highlight all of the cells in column B whose content does not appear in column A, but there are 80+ cells I’d have to check and it’d take me a really long time. I’m in no way an expert on excel but I do know I’d have to use conditional formatting, I just don’t know how to build the formula for this :( submitted by /u/Nandolvs [link] [comments]
- Conditional formatting highlighted cellsHoping you can help me! Everyone at my office is a huge novice with Excel - I understand the basics but am not terribly great myself. We need one (hopefully) simple thing. Essentially, we have a dataset that we want to flag column A with a highlighted color if anything in that row is a color. Column A will always contain one of 5 words -- I've already done that with data validation. But what we want is, for instance, if I highlight cell H7 in yellow, it would then highlight A7 with the same color. I tried playing around with conditional formatting but I wasn't able to get it quite right. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give! submitted by /u/THE_GREAT_PICKLE [link] [comments]
- Conditional Formating to highlight different dates on a spreadsheet.Hi there, I need assistance with creating a formula to highlight dates that are 3 - 6 months hold and dates that are +6months from the date I open the spreadsheet. Example, this spreadsheet was created today, but if I were to open the spreadsheet on 3 weeks, the highlighted dates change according to that days dates if applicable to the rule. The data I'm trying to do this for is A1:J565. Row 1 are column titles if that makes a difference for the rule. The date colum is I. I appreciate any help I can get. submitted by /u/Salty-Departure7245 [link] [comments]
- Conditional Formatting to highlight time for 24 hours (different for each cell)I would like the cells to be highlighted in red if it exceeds 24 hours based on the time and date in the individual cell. It is a large data set and it is preferable to not amend the formula in each cell individually. For example, column L has the cells where I want the cells to be highlighted if they exceed 24 hours however each cell as a different time; L2 is Mar 20, 2026, 10:25:21 PM and L3 is Mar 20, 2026, 7:00:01 AM. The 24 hour mark for the each cell would vary. submitted by /u/Interesting_Low9324 [link] [comments]
