Counting hours only if they are before or after a certain time
Our take
I am part of a studio share with some friends, and we book through google calendar. We have an allotted amount of hours, and I'm making a spreadsheet that calculates how many hours we've used.
There are different types of hours; do not disturb, walk-in, visitors welcome, and late hours. Right now, my spreadsheet categorizes the hours based on the words in the title of the event (for instance, someone would name an event "jane, DND" and it would subtract a certain number of DND hours from jane).
However, late night hours are within a certain time frame. I'm thinking about the scenario where someones session begins during the day, and goes into the late night- I don't want late night time to eat into DND hours. I'm wondering if there is a way to calculate the duration before midnight, and the duration after midnight.
I'm able to input the start time and end time from google calendar, and calculate a total duration by subtracting start time from end time. But if I have a session from 8PM to 2AM, is there a way to calculate the time from 8PM to midnight, and then the time from midnight to 2AM?
Each row is a different session

- I need a spreadsheet to know how many hours I work and how much I will chargeHello, I don't know anything about Excel or I have a PC, but well, I have the app.. but I need help, I work on demand, they call me when they need and they change my schedule.. that's why controlling the hours is sometimes cumbersome (for topics such as night hours etc.) could someone help me with tips on how I can make a spreadsheet that adds up the hours? In other words, the idea is to set the schedule I work and that the spreadsheet adds up how many hours I worked and then the total.. The criterion would be to be able to put the date, the schedule for example from 14 to 22 and that the form says how many hours there are and adds them in total, if it is possible to specify more as hours after x quantity that counts them separately (extra hours) or that the hours after a certain schedule are counted separately (night hours) I just want to put the schedules and know how many common, extra and night hours I did so I can calculate what I should charge and deduct taxes etc... I know I ask a lot and maybe it's not possible to do this in the app, if you could help me I would appreciate it. Even if no one helps, thank you anyway. If it reads weird it's because it's automatic translation... Repost translated because for some reason reddit deleted it.. although it was in English... submitted by /u/nameku9 [link] [comments]
- Time In Lieu SpreadsheetHey All, I have used Google Sheets forever but my new job uses Office and I am struggling with some of Excel's functions. I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that tracks my time off in lieu (TOIL) so I know where I'm at. I've created the bare bones of the spreadsheet ash shown in the image but I need help cleaning it up. Ideally I would like to have all of the time columns (B:H) only have hh:mm format and then all of the 0:00:00 values that haven't been used not to be shown. In cell L1 I would like it to show the most current level of TOIL, again in hh:mm format. Is this possible or am I asking too much of Excel? Thanks in advance. https://preview.redd.it/c8u5ha2cxszg1.png?width=1001&format=png&auto=webp&s=3985daa3d11541abed488f377c62e375f6ab1224 submitted by /u/Silky_45 [link] [comments]
