Excel 2019 - Search Replace is stuck in loop after changing Tab

Our take

If you find yourself stuck in a loop with Excel 2019’s search and replace feature after switching tabs, there’s hope for regaining control. This issue often arises when a search operation is interrupted, leaving Excel unable to locate the original tab and search context. With approximately 10,000 columns and 15,000 rows in your spreadsheet, the problem can feel overwhelming. Fortunately, there are strategies to intervene and resolve this glitch, allowing you to regain access to your work without the endless clicking. Let’s explore effective solutions.

I needed to perform a search & replace (S&R) on a cloned Tab to update formulas. I didn't realise it hadn't completed the 'S&R' and selected another tab in Excel. Now it is stuck in a loop saying: Microsoft Excel cannot find a match.

There are approx 10k columns and 15k rows, and it wont allow me to return to the Tab it is searching, and I suspect it's actually looking in the newly selected tab. Is there a way to intervene and regain control or am I destined to clicking on OK till my next birthday :(
