I have a number of Excel files saved on my Google Drive. I'll update them using a laptop.
On my phone, I open Google Drive. I see that they all have the correct date and time from the last save. If I click the three dots, and pick "open with," the Excel app on my phone opens, but it pulls up the prior version of the file! It doesn't matter how long I wait to do this.
If I open the file into Google Sheets (from my phone), it is always the most recent version. If I look at "view information" I get a tiny thumbnail of the file, and I can see it's the most recent version. So the problem isn't with Google Drive. I've tried making the file available offline (to force an immediate download of the recent version to my phone's storage) and this doesn't help.
After the old version opens into Excel, I need to close the file (with "discard changes"), close the Excel app on the phone, and reopen the file from Google Drive, then I'll get the most recent version. Why is this happening?
And clearly, having to "clear a cache" every single time is a non-solution. I'm not going to go to Apps, Excel, Data, Clear Cache every time I want to look at a file.

- Excel Android app deleting cells and removing bordersSorry if this isn't the right place to ask this. I have a Google Pixel 8 with the OneDrive and Excel apps fully updated. When I open a spreadsheet in OneDrive and tap the button to edit it in Excel, it will randomly remove borders I have added and sometimes it will delete random blocks of cells. Thankfully I can use the version history on OneDrive to get back what I lost, but this is still really frustrating as it makes it impossible to edit spreadsheets on the go not knowing if parts are going to get randomly deleted. - Why is my SharePoint file not opening the latest version for the user?We have a couple of linked shared SharePoint excel trackers. I was asked to make some changes ( new list dropdowns, update a formula). I would make the changes, save, and users kept complaining about things being broken, cannot update links messages etc. So today I pulled the files offline, fixed everything, locked with password (sheet and workbook), and locked the ranges. I archived the original files and replaced them with my local version. Then I asked the user to open it, bam old version, autosaves over my file. Replaced again. asked them to right click from the online folder to open, old version. click directly on SharePoint link to open in browser, old version. In the end I was so annoyed I renamed the files. Obviously my prev changes were getting partially or wholly overwritten by other's files, but I am not sure what was happening today. How do you ensure to open the latest version of the file? - Excel file recovery optionsThe company I work for uses microsoft teams and one-drive to manage all of their files and file sharing systems. I have a file on my desktop on my work laptop that I go into, edit, and save essentially every day. I had this file open this morning after making edits last night. I made a few more edits, saved it and then closed out. When I went to open the file this evening I was met with a message below the toolbar that said “latest uploaded failed” with the options of "save a copy" or "discard changes". At this point the edits I made this morning were still visible in the file so I thought the message just related to the edits from this morning when I was moving filters around, since I had the file open last night and saved it at that point. I clicked "discard changes", the file closed out and when I reopened the file it had restored a version from February. How do I find the copy of this file from last night or is it completely gone? I would think that since I opened and saved this file 100+ times since the February that there would be a more recent version? Especially given this is the first time I ever got this error message.
