Excel sorting data incorrectly issue

Our take

Are you frustrated by Excel sorting age ranges incorrectly? If you’ve noticed that "5-9" appears after "45-49" instead of following "0-4," you’re not alone. This common issue arises because Excel sorts text strings alphabetically, which can lead to unexpected orderings in your data. Fortunately, there’s a straightforward solution to ensure your age ranges are sorted correctly. In this guide, we’ll explore how to adjust your data to achieve the desired order, empowering you to manage your datasets with confidence.

I want to sort a data set which contain age ranges 0-4, 5-9, 10- 14.. and so on.

Issue comes when 5-9 does not come after 0-4 and instead comes after 45-49 and before 50-54.

How to fix this?
