Incorrect X Y Plotting
Our take
Are you struggling to visualize your data correctly in Excel? It can be frustrating when your values appear stuck on the x-axis instead of being plotted as intended. This issue is more common than you might think, and understanding how to troubleshoot it can transform your data presentation. By clarifying your plotting parameters and ensuring your x and y ranges are set correctly, you can unlock the full potential of your graphs.
Hello! Having a problem with my excel graph, I've inserted the screenshots below, as it's not plotting my values as actual plots , but instead keeps them on the x-axis? They should be dotted across the graph. The ranges for the x and y axis seem to be correct though. Any advice/ pointers will be greatly appreciated. I'm assuming this is quite a common problem as I've seen other google searches and posts about this, but just struggling to get through their instructions/ advice.

- Excel keeps plotting my Y-axis on the right side instead of leftHi, excel keeps plotting this y axis on the right side instead of the left. I know I can change the label positioning but it doesnt work as I need tick marks on the values. Values are not in reverse order either, I don't know why excel keeps defaulting to put it on the right side instead of the usual left side. https://preview.redd.it/8j8c0s2i78rg1.png?width=614&format=png&auto=webp&s=5e6dc97b9514cff5c05c2c6f6c50f8c2d156c205 submitted by /u/coolcat0524 [link] [comments]
- Strange referencing issue when creating X/Y Scatter Plothttps://imgur.com/gallery/image-1-Ag1IysF Image 1 shows the graph that I'm currently working with. The issue that I'm having is with the Blue Dots. https://imgur.com/gallery/image-2-gbXSKPZ https://imgur.com/gallery/image-3-89fcBva The Series X and Y values are from columns Z and X in image 2. the X series is column Z and the Y series is column X, which image 3 shows. However, when I click OK and Excel creates the graph, it uses Portfolio ID (Column A in Image 2) as the x-axis values instead of the values in column X as defined, and I'm not sure why. submitted by /u/FetusDeletus768 [link] [comments]
- Issue with plotting on graphs? So I have a set of data that needs to go from 0-50 in intervals of 5 on the x-axis, but go some reason each time I create the scatterplot it ignores the fist column with those numbers, and switches them for 0-14 in intervals of 1 or 2. I can’t figure out what to do. Please help me! Thanks! 🙏 submitted by /u/Jack_The_Pinapple [link] [comments]
