Is it possible to remove the echo effect while using freeze
Our take
When using the freeze feature to lock columns in your spreadsheet, some users encounter an echo effect, where locked columns appear to duplicate briefly while scrolling. This can be distracting and hinder your workflow. You might be wondering if there’s a way to eliminate this bouncing back effect. Additionally, while experimenting with the split feature, it seems to maintain the view without the echo but may not provide the desired functionality. Let’s explore potential solutions to enhance your spreadsheet experience and streamline your data management.
When i use freeze to lock some columns on the left side, it doubles up when i scroll far left, creating an echo effect
is there a way to make it stop scrolling where it bounces back, so that i dont need to see double for .5 seconds
Additional info, thx 4 the help btw
for the guy asking for my version
Regarding using split, i dont know enough about it, but i can tell how i did it and what happens when i click split
i just marked the column and hit freeze
then freeze panes
then it looks like pic 1 when i scroll but bounces back to how pic 2 looks after half a sec.
if i click split it stays duplicated and doesnt bounce back, so i dont think thats it

- Stop excel from jumping while scrollingSo I don't know how to frame this more accurately. I am using excel for some light text analysis purposes (yeah yeah there is better and I should probably just use different software). When I scroll, excel keeps putting the cell I am scrolling to on top of the screen, but this confuses my brain. I want to have the cell in the middle of the screen so I can situate it to the last one. Any chance someone understands what I mean, and knows a solution? I tried changing the scroll lock, frozen pans etc... but nothing seems to change excels bad habit of deciding for me, where the current cell is supposed to be. thank you submitted by /u/Alyano95 [link] [comments]
