Is there any way to "unstack" the columns efficiently?
Our take
Are you grappling with legacy Excel files that have columns stacked together, making it impossible to create a usable database? You’re not alone—many face this challenge, especially with outdated formats. Fortunately, there are efficient ways to “unstack” those columns and transform your data into a more manageable format. By leveraging AI-powered tools, you can automate the process for over 20 files and 1,000 lines, freeing up your time for more strategic tasks.
Hello.
I have several excel files with pipe characteristics and want to create a database. However, since the columns are presented this way, I cant create it. I have more than 20 excel files and more than 1000 lines so I need to automate it.
Is there any way to separate the columns so that I have column A, B, C, D... i. e., 8 instead of 4?
The files were created decades ago..

- Printing merged columns separatly ?Hey everyone, Need your help. I have a file with around 600 columns and 400 rows, and I want to print bloc of columns separatly, while keeping column A each time. Here a sample of the file (fictionnal data) : https://preview.redd.it/vtllx4bahrqg1.png?width=785&format=png&auto=webp&s=b7f2211598a7d1a43920ba07fe10a45f3a37ba20 I want to print column A with everything from USER A, then column A with everything from USER B... until the end of my table. The thing is, there is no "standard" columns number for each users. Some have only two columns, other 6. I have around 180 users to print, so doing it manually will be a bit painful. Any idea ? Thanks a lot for your help. submitted by /u/Realistic-Smell1689 [link] [comments]
