Link outlook email to excel?

Our take

Linking Outlook emails directly to your Excel tracker can significantly enhance your task management system. If you're looking to streamline your workflow, the ability to click a cell and jump straight to a relevant email, regardless of its folder, could save you valuable time. While traditional methods often involve saving emails as files, there are more efficient solutions worth exploring. Let's dive into the possibilities that can help you integrate your email and spreadsheet seamlessly, empowering you to manage your tasks more effectively.

Hey folks, I’m in the midst of refreshing my task management system.

I’ve decided on running an excel based tracker so I can do some simple conditional formatting, date tracking etc.

One thing I would like to do is link an email that is relevant to the task to a hyperlink or object in the excel sheet.

I’ve done some googling and there are really janky ways people mention like saving the email as a file then adding that as an object, this is not what I need.

Ideally I would like to click a cell then go straight to the email in outlook, even if I have moved it to another folder.

I guess this is not possible but thought it worth checking with the gurus in here!
