Merge data from multiple tables (data doesn't line up) into one table
Our take
Struggling to merge data from multiple tables into one cohesive view can be frustrating, especially when your current method involves painstakingly selecting each cell. Fortunately, there's a more efficient way to automate this process. By leveraging AI-powered spreadsheet capabilities, you can create a combined table that not only organizes your data seamlessly but also updates in real time as changes occur. Keep reading to discover how you can simplify your workflow and transform your data management experience into one that is both streamlined and effective.
Hi.
If I want to create a table like the top image from the data of the tables from the bottom image (the data from the bottom right corner), is there an easy way to do it? Where it also updates automatically if the data changes?
The way I am currently doing it is literally going =then selecting the cell one by one. I wouldn't mind if it was a few recipe or items, but their are hundreds. Please help. Thank you!

- Combining several files into one, matching by date and timeHello fellow excel nerds! I need some help I currently have data coming from several different sensors in several different csv files. Each operates on its own schedule and measures different variables. I’d like to combine them all into one master sheet, where for each time and date I have the output from each sensor. I’m sensing power query is going to be what helps me, but I haven’t quite sussed it out yet. Part of the difficulty is that the columns are named differently as the sensors measure different things (like luminosity, speed, humidity, location), and, of course, they operate on different timelines. So for example one sensor will measure every minute, another every hour, and yet another measures only when specific events happen so those timestamps are basically random. What I’m trying to get is a master table that would tell me at 9pm, the speed was x, the humidity was y, the location was z. I understand I will have a lot of blank values at timestamps where only one or two sensors recorded data points, but I can live with that. Does anyone know how to do this, or even know the accurate term for this manipulation to help me in my research? Many thanks! submitted by /u/Mysterious_Camel_717 [link] [comments]
- Combining Tables that feed from another data setI have an Excel sheet that tracks when our company vehicles are used by different departments. I am trying to create a table that would serve as an automatic usage tracker, which will tell us how many days per week and month each department uses the vehicles. I have the data being input into the attached tables per week, a copy attached here. But I cannot figure out how to combine these tables into one data set for the entire month. Please help me! I have been researching, and it sounds like I should be using a Power Query? But when I have tried, it always gives me an error message. submitted by /u/Clear_Yesterday9807 [link] [comments]
- Is there a more efficient way to do what I am doing? (Merge tables keeping values)So I have three tables: https://preview.redd.it/mwzou7dva0qg1.png?width=964&format=png&auto=webp&s=744f10a3fad0171dfb408d62f01440e8cbdb87cc And I want to merge them into a table like this one: https://preview.redd.it/ztbg4ld3b0qg1.png?width=503&format=png&auto=webp&s=91dad64f697b523ac6c95cc1b868b9bd58653a3c As you can see, I want to keep the first column as the unique list of names, adding all the different names from the 3 columns. But I want to grab the 3 values from the different tables. I know the values in the different columns don't match the names, but that is exactly the point since I want to compare the values fro the different names. I don't mind the empty cells either. So far what I am doing is append the tables into a single one with power query, loading it into a pivot table to stack de names, then adding the three different values and copy paste it without format into a different sheet and then converting it to an Excel table. It actually works, but I can't stop thinking that this is way too innefficient and annoying and that there is an easier way to do it. Can anyone help with this? submitted by /u/Almogaver95 [link] [comments]
- One master list to auto update several other listsHello! I’ve been looking all over but haven’t found anything quite like what I need. I’m hoping you all can help. Let me try to summarize. Ideally I need to have a master sheet with all my data that automatically updates several external sheets with specific data from within the master. They also need to be able to add and delete automatically when the master is updated. For example I have a table of account numbers, their amounts, rates, related entities, etc on the master sheet. I’ll also need spreadsheets that only shows account information for Entity A, another for Entity B, and so on. Entity A and B may have some of the same account information, but not all. I know I can reference the master with a formula, but if new accounts are added, I’ll have to manually update each sheet. I’d like to avoid that. I looked into Power Query, but I don’t need it to combine multiple sheets or manipulate any data. Pivot tables also don’t seem to be working for this.
