Power BI Semantic model accessed from Excel causes error when collapsing a row or column hierarchy in the pivot table.
Our take
I’ve encountered an issue with our Power BI semantic model when accessing it from Excel. Specifically, collapsing a row or column hierarchy, such as transitioning from a day to a month view, leads to an error. This problem affects all dimensions, not just the Time dimension, and notably does not occur when the model is accessed directly from Power BI. I'm seeking insights into the potential causes of this issue and any solutions that might help resolve it. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated!
I've noticed that a semantic model we have is resulting in an error when collapsing a row or column hierarchy, like for example collapsing a month and day hierarchy to just month. This error seems to occur with all of our dimensions not just Time, but does not occur at all when the model is accessed from Power BI. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?
