How to create a search bar
Our take
Creating a search bar for your spreadsheet can streamline access to your anime data across multiple sheets, enhancing your overall user experience. By linking these 27 sheets into a new search engine-style interface, you can simplify the process of finding specific titles or information. This approach allows you to pull relevant data dynamically, ensuring that users can quickly retrieve what they need. Let’s explore how to set up this functionality, transforming your spreadsheet into an efficient search tool that enhances productivity and accessibility.
I've got a spreadsheet with 27 sheets for anime and I want to link them together in a new sheet and make it a search engine style like Google. Is there a way that the data can be pulled from the sheet or sheets and show up on the new sheet with the search bar?

- Search Bar thats acts like a SlicerHello! I am working on a data entry that requires a search bar for specific values that is also editable. I have been looking for solutions but all I have are the following: Table slicer (which is good, but when you have 100+ accounts and need to search for a specific account, it’s not viable) =Filter(table) function, which is also nice but it won’t let me edit the data from the results. Is there an actual way to create a search bar applied to the main table, and when I search through it, I can edit the data without ruining the table? Basically a search bar that acts like a slicer. I’m fairly new to developer functions in excel, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you! submitted by /u/PsychologicalAct4026 [link] [comments]
- Pulling data from other tabs.Is there a way to pull data from another tab, by simply writing a search word? Example.. If I have a tab of values, x value 1, y value 2 etc.. Can I access those values in another tab with a formula based on "x" or "y" instead of the specific cell? I'm making a spreadsheet of caloric content in different foods, to use when calculating the total caloric content of certain dishes, and it would be easier to just write "Sugar" and it automagically fills out the caloric content pr/100 g, instead of having to look it up every time. submitted by /u/Anxious-Plate-4848 [link] [comments]
- Linking up multiple spreadsheetsHey guys! I am in a bit of a situation and I don't even know how to search for it (I really tried). I need to link multiple spreadsheets and gather data from them. Here's the breakdown of the situation: Main spreadsheet - Contains all customer data, such as name, address, phone number, email, notes, etc.. You get the point. For each individual customer I will be having a Profit and Loss spreadsheet, which contains more and specific information, but also the information that will be found in the main spreadsheet. Every customer will have a folder which also has the P&L spreadsheet in it. Is there any way I can make this more streamlined, besides double inputting all the data in both spreadsheet? I want the main spreadsheet to pull up the information automatically the data from each individual customer. I create the P&L where I will be filling out the information then I want the main spreadsheet to automatically get the data from that, as simple as possible. Sorry if this is a little confusing, I am trying my best to explain it haha. Thank you! submitted by /u/ionutzz__ [link] [comments]
- Trying to build an Excel ‘database search’ that opens another file to the right row — possible?”So I have this mini project that I wanted to do. I genuinely wanted to help my co-workers with their databases (or data banking as they say). The goal is to create an excel file wherein when they could search for a person using either an ID or name and they could click something like a link or a button and then it'll open another excel file/s and get to the exact row based on the ID and/or name. The files that'll be opened could vary so I was thinking of buttons that opens the file and highlight or locates the exact row based on the ID. I'm not sure if this could be done. I wanted to give this a try but I just don't know the term to search for. Is this doable? Any ideas how or if there are other suggestions? I'm not an expert at Excel but maybe above average. I know a little bit of VBA but I'm willing to learn. Hope someone could help to search for the right term. submitted by /u/richako [link] [comments]
