I'm attempting to make a graph where the data is put up against the total number of the population, but only one bar ever works
Our take
Status Setup 7 Shipped/Received 7 Needs 50 Total 57 So I have the above, I highlight setup through 57, and as you can see from the picture, I only get the first bar graph to work right. I...
- right Click >> Select Data >> uncheck Total for horizontal
- Add >> Series value >> click cell 57 for legend entree
Then I get this first thing. If I attempt to add anything else then everything just breaks. If I click on the top of the first bar, it will highlight the 57. If I click on any of the others, it will highlight Setup to Total in one color, and 7 - 57 in another.
Copilot kept telling me to do all this stuff that absolutely did not work, and following the first instructions from a search engine basically gave me the same steps I ended up doing.
Co-pilot wanted me to keep making "helper cells" where I made the data, but the fact is I already have those here.

- Can't stop graph from displaying non values as a 0That might not be a great description but basically I have an Excel file that I didn't make but I did modify and I added a column that summed up three other columns and added it into the graph. The problem is, unlike the rest of the graph, which clears data and then pulls from a website as I update it periodically, the column that I have that is a sum will appear as a flat 0 the whole way unless I delete it all and then drop down the cells as I go. I think it will be easier to snip the Excel file and show it because I'm sure this will not make a ton of sense. https://ibb.co/4R9FZCBc https://ibb.co/MxTDLPbC Does anyone know how to handle this? It's driving me crazy to either have that bottom line there on the graph or have to manually pull down the formula each time I pull in new data.. submitted by /u/Illadelphian [link] [comments]
- Custom error bars excel problemSo I have data for a project that I made into a line chart, which took me almost 4 hours because of the fact that excel didn't want to take my data as It was, it would see it as zero's instead of normal decimal numbers. After troubleshooting that I have another problem. I have the line graph I only need to add my custom error bars. The numerical value of the numbers should be big enough to show up, but excel just doesn't want to add them. I am selecting the range and everything correctly, I've tried with completely different numbers, different graphs and converting them etc nothing works. Please help me troubleshooting I am going insane. submitted by /u/alt_bc_im_a_pussy [link] [comments]
- Centering a bar graph data based on horizontal axis categories rather than by series.I don't know if this is the kind of question normally posed to this community and it is largely aesthetic, but here goes. I am making a graph for data that had technical replicates for each gene (A, B, and C). The genes (102 pqm1, 102 N2, and 96 N2) are on the horizontal axis and are the major category for the graph. Some replicates had a value of '0', which I do want to represent on the graph. The issue that one replicate (102 N2, C) failed and was removed from the data set, but even if I don't include that empty cell in the selection box for the series, Excel centers that category around the second series in that category. This makes it look almost as though there is another '0' value, when in fact that data is simply nonexistent https://preview.redd.it/a5555vq2j2ng1.png?width=646&format=png&auto=webp&s=c3dec2c3608a6fde56336839b732c8780eab98d0 https://preview.redd.it/y3py87b5j2ng1.png?width=193&format=png&auto=webp&s=6f97bd63453454d3967654015500d6be0038ef9f If anyone knows how to individually move bars in this type of graph, or how to make a bar graph that is tied to x-axis categories but not series, I'd appreciate any advice! submitted by /u/Stack_of_penguins [link] [comments]
