I'm sharing my professional expense tracker and the web app I created to automate it. Both are free to use.
Our take
I’ve been using a really powerful spreadsheet for years. It’s a pretty solid tool for getting an annual view of your cost of living and savings rate, and I’ve spent a lot of time refining it.
Recently, I decided to take that same logic and turn it into a web app as an alternative. Most apps I tried didn't really fit what I wanted, so I made something that keeps that "large screen" feel of a spreadsheet but with a faster workflow.
I'm sharing both for free because it could be helpful for someone and I'm curious to see which approach people actually prefer.
Here 2 snapshots of both spreadsheet and app dashboard comparison. In case you want the links, see my profile or ask by DM

- I built a tool that lets you skip Excel formulas (would love your feedbacks)Hey everyone, If you work with Excel a lot, you probably spend way too much time figuring out formulas and structuring data before you can actually get insights. I’ve been building a web app called Neural Sheet to simplify that workflow. Instead of writing formulas manually, you can just upload your Excel file, describe what you want in plain language, and it generates the result for you. You can then download everything back as a normal Excel file with full control. It’s still early, but most core features are already there, and I’d really value honest feedback from people who actually use spreadsheets daily. You get 30 free edits to try it out. If you hit the limit and want more, just DM me and I’ll top you up. Would love to hear what works, what doesn’t, and what feels missing. submitted by /u/NeuralSheet [link] [comments]
- I built an Excel personal net worth trackerI built a Excel spreadsheet template (get it here) to track my net worth in detail, across all my bank accounts, brokerage accounts, and alt assets too. It's got formulas and some spend categorization automations built into it, so hopefully it's helpful to you! Def a little annoying to manually re-add bank/transaction data to keep it updated, but that's solvable. Enjoy! LMK if anything is broken and I'll fix. submitted by /u/UofA4161 [link] [comments]
- Free Excel dashboard for tracking invoices and client payments — built this for my own business, sharing itBeen running a small service business for a few years and the one thing that always caused stress was knowing who owed me what at any given moment. Tried a few apps but always ended back in Excel because it's just faster. So I built a proper invoice tracking dashboard in Excel. Tracks payment status, calculates overdue days automatically, flags high-risk clients and has a late fee calculator built in. Made a free version — no catch, just grab it and use it. If it saves one person from chasing a forgotten invoice it's worth sharing. - Making a fillable form with dropdowns and sections that can be added and moved easily**SEE ATTACHED IMAGE** I am attempting to improve this spreadsheet. I have a decent amount of experience with Excel but I am unfamiliar with the terminology require to describe the exact functions I am attempting to implement. The function of the sheet is to log various statuses and information pertaining to ladders and their inspection status. Each workbook has a header section and a footer section to diffentiate between clients. The sections that detail the individual ladders need to be moveable / re-order more easily, and also be able to insert a blank ladder section for any new ladders that come into service. The reason excel was selected is for access reasons. All of our clients use excel, but if there is an objectively better tool for the job that is part of the Office suite that people can use via the web or with their Office licence then I will consider that. Thank you to everyone who is able to provide some insight into this. https://preview.redd.it/7ln3oocpcjvg1.png?width=1405&format=png&auto=webp&s=584525d55bd27779bd56a9d746b5dcc6dd913c70 submitted by /u/WillowDime [link] [comments]
