I want to have the ability to track my workouts by recording results in a spreadsheet.
Our take
I want to be able to graph (pivotchart) my progress over time. An example of a workout may be:
- Bench Press - 3 sets of 10 reps each.
- Squat - 3 sets of 12 reps each
- Barbell row - 5 sets of 6 each
That's just an example for the sake of illustrating my problem.
How should I go about tracking the sets and reps and then what I did? Maybe I'm supposed to do 135 pounds on the bench press but I only end up being able to do 7 reps on the third set.
What I want to track would be the sets, reps, the weight I used, the actual number of sets and reps I did and the date so I know when I did them. I would then like to be able to have a table that shows what I did last time so I can decide what I should try to do next time.
How should I design these rows and columns to be able to capture that data and then use it for reporting?

- Looking for project tracking ideasHi, As the title suggests I’m trying to create an Excel sheet that tracks the progress of various projects. Essentially, I was given a messy excel document to look after. I don’t have particularly advanced skills and nor do I want to spend too much time on this. So… One sheet lists projects as rows and they all have a reference code. There is a column designated for “action updates” where people overwrite progress each month. Other columns exist for project status, dates etc. My idea was to create another sheet which also lists the projects but acts as an action/change history log. I attempted to have a drop down through grouped cells that would act as a historic list of all changes and action updates around each project. The row with the corresponding project number would act as a “live view”, so using an X look up to display this data on the original sheet. Is there a better way to create something like this? There must be loads of ways to do something like this, but I just can’t think which way to do it!! Thank you for any help!!! submitted by /u/Formal_Disk_3760 [link] [comments]
- I'm looking for tips how to enter and visualise data entries as easy as possibleI am using excel as a training tracker and I'm out of ideas of how to make a good logbook/layout. i don't know how to make the data summarise in graphs AND be as easy to enter into a scaling dated spreadsheet. preferably i don't want to scroll to the side/ down to the date to do an entry. but as shown below is what i already have. I'm open for ideas and system for sorting. https://preview.redd.it/y1le0clfylsg1.jpg?width=595&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27fcb2fb9db74b5290d7f6495ee7b1ea749b4e98 submitted by /u/Denelz [link] [comments]
- Formatting question for automating data entryIm going to try to articulate what I need and if it’s possible to do inside excel. At my job I have to record the amount of patrons using our facilities. and specify what particular services are being used. at the end of each quarter. (3 month period) I must tally up all the numbers and provide a total for each aspect of our facility as well as the total overall. For example. 1st quarter numbers. 100 patrons used theatre. 250 patrons used Game room 450 patrons used computer lab so on and so forth. Now that you have the gist in your head. Imagine a spreadsheet where the first form is just a data entry sheet. it’s essentially just a box that never changes. You input the numbers for the week, and that data gets automatically moved to a different cell that has the total amount. so that at the end of the quarter I can easily see my total without having to backtrack or tediously add. if anyone has some insight on how I can do this Please reach out. If you have any questions about my wording or understanding exactly what I mean please also reach out. If you read all this I appreciate your time. submitted by /u/Beneficial-Yard-9006 [link] [comments]
- Request for improved methodI work in accounts payable for a company and took over some additional duties a few months ago. One of those duties is keeping a tracker/log of all bills that come in. A tracker in excel was handed over to me. While I’ve improved many things with this tracker so far, I’m looking to make a major change but unsure how to go about it. This tracker has 110k rows of data and has columns with data up to column “FZ”. New rows of data are added daily. Old rows are “archived” as soon as possible. I’m no excel pro, but can hold my own and have learned along the way. Issue: large dataset presents challenges with excel freezing and/or crashing Disclaimer: I cannot remove any rows or columns. Question: is there a better way to handle this data? Ie. tools in excel, using something other than excel, etc? submitted by /u/Visible-Question-786 [link] [comments]
