Issues Creating Weekly Summary Totals
Our take
>The issue is unable to workout creating summary weekly totals and finding the right way and /or formula to bring them to sheet 2.
I am creating an official tax log for my first year as a 1099 employee using my handwritten log from the year.
I created sheet 1 with column A1 labeled for dates. Further down on column O is labeled total earnings.
The problem I’m running into researching, using copilot, google search, YouTube, etc., is every formula or different step I have attempted is unable to move the dates into a week-week type row (week 1, week 2) in order to give the weekly totals next to it I believe for 2 reasons.
1- my starting work date is on 2/14/2025 ending on 12/29/2025. Along with trying to align it with my workweek which would make 3 days for week 1(2/14-2/16) and then follow the 7 day formula for the rest.
2- I started off my entire sheet using copilot assist from someone else account at home and I think with the way AI set up my formulas in the sheet, it is causing issues and errors. His subscription had cancelled after the second day I was working on the tax spreadsheet.
***last thing I attempted: opened sheet 2 and labeled a1 start date/ b1 end date/ week numbers.
Then I manually filled in week 1 and week 2. I then found a formula to allow me to fill in the rest of those columns. But now I am stuck on the original issue of still not finding the right formula to bring the weekly totals from sheet one over to sheet two.
— not sure if important but I’m working on system 1 date system.
Thank you for any feedback!

- Wanting to build a check total sheet that references a dynamic calendarI am going to try and Make this as clear as possible but it might be a bit confusing. I am creating a Dynamic Calendar (which it is created and works it seems) to track my work schedule. I work a two week on two week off schedule and I change out on Thursdays. I got it formatted to shade my schedule where I’m at work(not important) and shaded to add extra weeks. I want to create a second sheet that tracks the weeks of work (actually pay periods but both.) Listed as Back, Full and Front Back- is the first week I’m at work Full- well that’s a full week Front- last week or the front half I want column A to be the work week but started on a Monday and the pay period would be the following Friday in column B. Column C would list the type of week and D would be the amount associated with the type of week. My calendar is a grid 3x4 months. from empty first Jan square is B5 and all the way to X37 there is columns and rows spacing each month out In AA4 is the year AA5 is rotation start date AA6&AA7 is days on and off. I have tried using AI I have tried getting it to reference and when I get close the column for Week type does not fill correctly or won’t add an extra week when adding to that boxes or it adds every week possible in the year. I hope that was clear I been messing with it like a day before asking AI. And nothing I do gets it. Either it fills all weeks at full or no full weeks. submitted by /u/Cronenberg_Jerry [link] [comments]
- How to consolidate multiple sheets into one YTD summary report?I have 52 sheets in my excel workbook. It is named in a non-traditional sequence: "Jan Wk1, Jan Wk2, Jan Wk3,...... Dec Wk 4, Dec Wk5", because it's easy for me to print a weekly report with a total for each category. https://preview.redd.it/rq7qb3x8ddyg1.png?width=814&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d101ae17b185451e5140ef1c17f86221cd83aa6 Log 2026 is what my spreadsheet looks like. I only included three weeks as an example. Cell H34 in the highlighted area, on the Jan Wk2 sheet, contains a VBT to retrieve data from the previous sheet. Each day, I also need the total from the previous day in C36:G37. I like my current setup because I can easily convert it into a weekly PDF report without any modification. However, I'm not sure how to create a YTD summary report from 52 sheets. A template of the YTD report is included in Log2026. I tried to use 3D formulas, but I have to manually change sheet names and adjust cell references when crossing columns and rows. not very pragmatic and easily make mistakes. Log 2026: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IEavZiJiDOv4GS-8c6n8dJqHUnRfT-ft/view?usp=drive_link ***************************** Some people suggest combining a year's worth of data into a single spreadsheet, rather than 52 weekly sheets, and then using Power Query to populate the report, but I am having difficulty generating the weekly report using the preferred template. Preferred Pdf report example: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uQW7z_XZJ_Nn5sAzcaTkXDObAu8XTi0e/view?usp=drive_link Screenshot of combined data Completed data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xIJkqTOwjucN2QMT0pK6A6wmSp8U4U8A/edit?usp=drive_link&ouid=102145557861966136866&rtpof=true&sd=true highlights: data collected daily, so every day is different. data for the drivers on the bottom of the spreadsheet changes based on their starting date. So my goal is to create a weekly and yearly report with preferred template (boss's request). Any suggestion is appreciated. submitted by /u/Ok_Solid_9312 [link] [comments]
- Monthly tracking workbook I use to track employee sales metrics; Trying to find a way to make the process less labour intensiveTruly having a hard to describing my issue effectively but hoping someone can help. First time posting here and I'm by no means an expert with excel, so please be kind! I have a monthly workbook where I track each employees revenue and other metrics. Every 2 weeks for payroll, I provide a print out of these numbers, and the payroll sheet pulls data from multiple sheets in the workbook. For example, every workbook has a separate sheet for each day of the month, titled "1" through "31". I have pay period sheets, so I'll use one titled "04.02.26 - 04.15.26". Then I'll have the data for each employee pulled from multiple sheets. For example, I use the formula =SUM('2:15'!E3) to pull the sales data from each day of that period for the specific employee. This works quite well. However, when I create a new month's spreadsheet, I have to manually alter this formula for each employee and for each data point (more than just revenue, at least 6 different data points for 7 employees). Is there a way to automate this? For example, a cell or two where I'm able to enter the date range and all of the formulas update to that date range for the corresponding pages? I'm sorry of this post is confusing. Truly it's confusing even typing it! submitted by /u/Ok_Smile9222 [link] [comments]
- Working on creating a formula to use information across two cells to determine calculations in other cells(reposted first post got removed) I'm not certain the IF formula(s) are what I need but I'm not sure what else to use. Trying to create a spreadsheet for work: the premise is that if one or two people are the Contact for a project, they will split 5% of the project's earnings, each getting 2.5%; if only one person, they get 5%. The same for if one or two people who are the Winners for the project. I need some way for the spreadsheet to be able to see that if someone's initials are under either Contact or Winner, to then give them either 5% of the net income if they are the only Contact or only Winner, or 2.5% if they share either spot with someone else. The total amount of the net income given out as a bonus will always come to 10%. The first picture shows my 'backend' sheet and a formula I was trying that would calculate 2.5% of the Net Income if someone's initials showed up on the project, but this doesn't work if their initials only show up once because then they would need to get 5%. I would also hope there would be a less clunky way to do this many calculations. The second picture is a section of the main page of the sheet showing the Contact and Winner columns, the Net Income the bonus comes out of, and then the Total C/W amount under everyone's initials that adds up their total bonuses. Backend sheet, 'points' refers to first sheet First sheet of spreadsheet Please let me know if I have not been thorough enough with explaining what I'm trying to do, I'm so deep in this now that I am really really confused and just need help straightening this all out. Using newest version of Excel on a macbook, have also been working on same spreadsheet in Windows. I'm not a beginner at excel but not all that good either. TYSM in advance. submitted by /u/Financial_Device7400 [link] [comments]
