Has anyone else set up hotkeys for common formulas?
Our take
Have you ever felt the frustration of losing your favorite hotkeys when switching computers? If you've set up hotkeys for common formulas, you know the efficiency they bring to your workflow. These shortcuts can save you precious time and mental energy, preventing typos and ensuring your calculations are seamless. For those who haven't explored this enhancement, it’s a game-changer worth trying. Join the conversation—what hotkeys have you found indispensable, and how have they transformed your spreadsheet experience?
It felt like I was taking the piss when I added them, but when I moved PC's to one without these hotkeys, I really felt the loss - especially when you've got several things in your head and there's that slim chance they'll all fall out if you typo or check the keyboard. Ideally I'd have a keyboard with an extra bank of programmable keys for this, but c'est la monie.
For anyone who hasn't, I'd highly recommend. For anyone who has, are there any you've found useful in your workflow?
I imagine if you're working on similar problems over time then some Lambdas and Lets might be useful, but then it's probably quicker to set up a macro for those cases.

- What are your most used keyboard shortcuts that aren't the obvious ones?We all know Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. And everyone loves Ctrl+Z. But I'm curious about the shortcuts you use constantly that might not be as well known. The ones that save you time every single day but most people dont think about. For me its Ctrl+Shift+Arrow to select entire data ranges in a split second. Changed how fast I can format stuff. Also Ctrl+Space and Shift+Space for selecting whole columns or rows without touching the mouse. And Alt+E+S+V for paste special values even though theres probably a faster way now. I work with messy reports a lot and these little shortcuts add up over a week. Probably shave hours off manually selecting things. What are the shortcuts you use constantly that new users might not know about Or even just the ones that are underrated. Always looking to speed up my workflow and theres so many hidden ones in Excel that nobody talks about. Ctrl+, for todays date is another one I only discovered recently. submitted by /u/Ashwinnie13 [link] [comments]
- anyone used xcel hotkeys for excel?hey all - im trying to beef up my excel skills, specifically trying to start using keyboard more instead of using the mouse. I just started a new job and my entire team geeks out about using shortcuts. I heard about xcel hotkeys but wanted to see if anyone here has actually used it / if it’s worth it. submitted by /u/Dazzling_Local7919 [link] [comments]
