The recent article detailing a user's persistent visual update issue in Excel highlights a frustrating yet common challenge faced by many who rely on traditional spreadsheet software. The author describes an experience where the application becomes almost unusable, failing to reflect any changes made within the interface, despite the ability to interact with cells and save work. Such issues not only hinder productivity but can also lead to increased stress and confusion, especially for users who depend on spreadsheets for critical data management tasks. This scenario raises important questions about the reliability of established tools and the need for more innovative solutions in data management.

As we navigate the complexities of modern data workflows, the struggles reported in this article resonate with a broader audience. Many users are bound to legacy tools like Excel, often out of habit or necessity, without realizing that these tools may not fully meet their evolving needs. The user's experience, marked by attempts to troubleshoot through resets and repairs, underscores the limitations of traditional software in adapting to contemporary demands. I have been having this issue on and off for the last several months. It will randomly occur a couple of times a week and then go away with no rhyme or reason and no discernible trigger. Since Monday, Excel has become almost unusable to me. It just keeps locking out in the same way sometimes within seconds of opening a single file.

Excel will just stop updating visually. I'm still able to click in cells, scroll, use the ribbon, save or even open files. But nothing will update visually. I can scroll, but it won't display that I have scrolled it stays wherever it was before it locked out. I could open and edit cells but I wouldn't be able to actually see what happened. The one saving grace is that I'm able to at least save the workbook and close it. Though I have to do this with hotkeys because all dialog boxes are absolutely blank.

I have tried resetting the computer, running any repair service on Microsoft office, clearing the roaming data, forcing an exit from the task manager, and several other miscellaneous fixes to no avail. I'm trying to at least see how prevalent this is because trying to search for this online or even using co-pilot to better understand it is yielding nothing.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know of any potential fixes? Thank you in advance to any replies.
