Sync your meet and greet schedule straight into a weekly diary.

If you're looking to streamline your scheduling process, autopopulating a diary across two sheets can enhance your efficiency significantly.

There's a quiet frustration in the post from u/toshibathezombie, and it's one we recognize. You're staring at two perfectly good spreadsheets, a meet-and-greet schedule and a weekly diary, and you know the information should just flow from one to the other. Instead, you're left manually copying names, times, and roles, hoping you don't transpose a 2:00 PM into a 2:00 AM. That's not a problem with your spreadsheet skills. It's a problem with the tool's default assumption that you want to do everything by hand.

The good news is that the solution exists, and it's closer than you think. What you're describing is a classic lookup-and-populate pattern. A formula that matches dates and times from your "meet & greet - EA" sheet and pulls the correct session, role, and person into your "week schedule" is absolutely within reach. The key is structuring the matching logic around a unique identifier, usually a combination of date and time, so the formula knows exactly which row to pull from. Once that's set, the diary populates itself. No more cross-eyed scanning of two tabs.

What stands out here is not the complexity of the ask, but how common it is. Most spreadsheet users hit this exact wall, and most assume they need to learn a whole new system or beg for a template. That's the wrong takeaway. The right takeaway is that your existing tool already has the power to do this. You just need a nudge in the right direction, a clear example of how to structure the formula, and the confidence to try it. The screenshots you shared show the raw material is all there. The columns are labeled, the data is clean, and the logic is straightforward. It's a matter of translating that logic into a formula that speaks the spreadsheet's language.

So here's our plain opinion: stop treating this as a favor to be asked, and start treating it as a puzzle you're allowed to solve. Ask for help, sure, but ask with the expectation that you'll walk away with a working formula, not just a patch for this week. The practical next step is to write a formula like `=IFERROR(INDEX('meet & greet - EA'!C:C, MATCH(1, (dates=date_range)*(times=time_range), 0)), "")` and adjust it to your exact columns. Test it on one row first. Then drag it down. If it breaks, break it into smaller pieces. You'll learn more from one working row than from a hundred forum threads. And once it works, you'll never look at a weekly diary the same way again.
